Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers Joins Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services for Strengthened Alumni Services

Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers

Lancaster, Pa., November 14, 2017 – To help improve longer-term recovery care for those suffering with the disease of addiction, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers has joined Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services (TPAS) and will sit on the organization’s Relationship Committee.

“Connection is absolutely crucial after a patient completes or leaves treatment,” said Founder and CEO Peter Schorr, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers. “Joining TPAS helps us build better ways to stay connected with alumni so we can deliver a full continuum of recovery care and reduce relapse.”

TPAS allows Retreat’s alumni coordinators to collaborate with other alumni professionals through the organization’s biannual TPAS Collaboratives. During these events, alumni coordinators share the practices that work with their alumni, while new attendees ask how they can adjust their approach to improve their quality and value of service.

“Alumni need to connect with others in the same mindset and stay in touch with us in order to better adjust to sober living and reduce the chance of relapse,” said Corporate Alumni Coordinator Maggie Hunt, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers. “The ultimate goal for TPAS Collaboratives is to walk away with better ways to provide that follow through.”

“We already give patients superior care, as shown by our National Quality Approval from The Joint Commission. Our membership with TPAS shows that we also offer great care when those patients become alumni—and continue on their recovery journey,” said Schorr.

Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers Partners with eHome Aftercare to Offer Exclusive Innovative Family and Outpatient Program

Palm Springs, Fla., September 14, 2017–As part of its ongoing vision to providing the greatest probability of long-term sobriety for patients, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers has partnered with eHome Aftercare to offer a broader range of outpatient counseling and education services, making Retreat one of the first treatment centers to offer these family and outpatient program services online, in a safe, secured environment.

By offering eHome Aftercare services as an optional program to Retreat patients and their families, Retreat enhances the opportunity for more family members and critical familial alliances such as clergy, physicians, or school psychologists, the ability to be intimately involved from the beginning of their loved one͛s entry into treatment, throughout their progression, and especially in their aftercare.

͞Retreat continues to offer premiere innovative programs to treat those suffering from the disease of addiction, as well as their family,͟ said Founder and CEO Peter Schorr, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers. ͞Combining our high-end, compassionate inpatient treatment with state-of-the-art family and outpatient counseling ensures afforded through eHome Aftercare, we remain in the forefront of effective, holistic addiction treatment programs.͟

Through the Retreat partnership with eHome Aftercare, once a patient enters Retreat for inpatient program, his/her family—a support network of family and friends— has the option to enroll for this add-on program for counseling twice a week and access to SOBER101® Resource Library, which offers video lessons and a library of informational materials. After the patient completes his/her inpatient program, the patient and family is able to continue with counseling once a week and SOBER101® access. Patient progress and counselor effectiveness will also becontinuously assessed and measured.

͞The bond between patients and therapists is a strong determinant of positive outcomes. eHome Aftercare counselors have a 91% satisfaction rate, and are key to our selection of this program. In addition, September is National Recovery Month, and we are thrilled to begin providing eHome Aftercare to coincide with such an important time of the year,͟ said Schorr.͞ eHome Aftercare helps Retreat expand the options from our already extremely successfulfamily education program, and quite frankly, I͛ve never seen anything so quantifiable in our profession. I believe it is going to change lives and revolutionize our industry, particularly because we can now engage family from anywhere in the country into the treatment process from Day 1,͟ said Chief Business Officer Deja Gilbert, PhD, LMHC, LPC, of Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers.

For about the price of a typical therapy session, eHome Aftercare offers the necessary familial engagement many family members desire, but until this service was created, often, due to geographic proximities and/or limited travel options, some families were unable to participate in this vital patient experience of family engagement.

The concept behind eHome Aftercare consists of counseling by video and text at any time or place, so family members can meet from separate geographic locations if needed. Statistics say that 69% of people expressed a preference of videoconferencing over traditional onsite family visits. During these counseling sessions, anonymity is maintained and the patient and family do not need to miss work or school. This makes the program ideal for students, traveling professionals and those in rural areas. ͞

The powerful combination of Retreat͛s outstanding addiction treatment center and our family and aftercare counseling provides the highest probability of success in breaking the addiction cycle and allowing people to ͚Live Again͛!͟ said Brad Rex, President and CEO, eHome Aftercare.

Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers to Address Opioid Crisis

Deja Gilbert, PhD, LMHC, LPC will discuss the economic effects of opioids at Economic Forum.

Palm Springs, Fla., June 6, 2017 – Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers has announced that Deja Gilbert, PhD, LMHC, LPC, Chief Business Officer at Retreat, will speak at the Economics of Addiction, the next Economic Luncheon for the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce. The luncheon takes place on Thursday, June 8 at 11am at Breakers West Country Club.

Gilbert will speak on the positive effects getting substance abusers into recovery can have on a local economy. The keynote speaker at the event will be State Attorney Dave Aronberg, and the Chamber’s Medical Board of Governors will be in attendance.

͞Palm Beach County in particular saw a sharp rise in opioid overdoses and deaths this part year, and a resulting rise in criminal, government and healthcare costs,͟ said Gilbert. ͞This forum, along with other initiatives, will make local business leaders more aware of the far-reaching effects substance abuse has on our community and economy.͟

According to a Palm Beach Post analysis of records from the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office, close to 600 people died of opioid-related overdoses alone in 2016 in Palm Beach County.

͞It’s so important for local businesses and community leaders to hear these numbers, along with the resulting costs that affect everyone from our healthcare professionals to taxpayers. The immense costs of substance abuse have a direct effect on our local economy,͟ said Gilbert.

Florida Blue Cross

Retreat at Palm Beach Accepting VA Patients

NOVEMBER 1st, PALM SPRINGS, FL:  Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers is pleased to announce that effective November 1, 2016 they are in network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.   Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers is now accepting individuals with Florida Blue for sub-acute detox, intensive inpatient, residential rehabilitation, day/night treatment, intensive outpatient and general outpatient services at their location in Palm Beach County, Florida.  “We are very happy to be in network with Florida Blue Cross.  We feel very strongly about the quality of the services that we provide and we are thrilled that more Floridians will now have access to our services” stated Peter Schorr, President and CEO of Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers.

Presently Florida Blue Cross insures roughly one third of insured Floridians.  However, access to inpatient substance abuse treatment in Florida for Florida residents is limited.  “Very few Florida facilities are in network with insurances, making it difficult for Florida residents to go for treatment in the state of Florida.  Most have to leave the state” said Ken Kosza, COO of Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers.  “Retreat at Palm Beach will now be accessible to the millions of Floridians who have Florida Blue Cross.  Historically most of these Florida residents who needed treatment would have had to leave the state” stated Kosza.

Retreat at Palm Beach is Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers’ state of the art 109 bed facility located in Palm Springs, Florida.  Serving as a catalyst for change in the way that substance abuse treatment is delivered in the state of Florida, Retreat at Palm Beach provides all inclusive, detox and residential rehabilitation services on site.  “Retreat at Palm Beach opened its doors on June 7th of this year and our programming and treatment philosophy has followed the model that we established at our facility in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania back in 2011” said Mr. Schorr.  Retreat at Lancaster County is a 175 bed facility in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.  Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers emphasizes high staff-to-patient ratios that far exceed the industry standards, a host of diverse holistic programming for patients, and a strong focus on clinical excellence with patients receiving a great deal of therapeutic care and support.

New Life for a Local Landmark

New Life for a Local Landmark

Akron Restaurant to Reopen as Premier Outpatient Treatment Facility

The generations-old Akron Restaurant – a local cultural treasure by all accounts – is slated to serve the greater Lancaster County community once again.

Work began in recent weeks to renovate the property at 333 S. Seventh St., restructuring it to house Retreat outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation center under the umbrella of Retreat at Lancaster County. It is anticipated that the new facility will be opening in The Spring of 2016.

Peter Schorr, Founder and CEO of Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers, purchased the property in December and immediately began to reimagine its potential. “This additional space will allow us to serve more individuals and families in the fight against addiction” said Mr. Schorr.

Originally opened in Ephrata in 1950 – the restaurant has seen its share of changes, moves, purchases and renovations. It’s been a staple of the Akron culture for decades, so of course there’s plenty of buzz about it opening as an outpatient treatment facility.

The talk is all favorable, however, as Retreat has become something of a household name in the local community: With a 150-bed inpatient facility a stone’s throw away in Ephrata, and another, smaller outpatient facility nestled in the Akron Borough – they’ve definitely made their mark since opening in 2011.

“We want to invest in the health and welfare of the community” said Mr. Schorr. In addition to offering various drug and alcohol treatment programs, the new facility will host a number of family and community education services.

Turning Up the Volume

Retreat Premier Addiction Centers’ “Recovery Radio” Shines Light on Major Topics in Addiction Treatment

In November, 2015, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers partnered with Philadelphia broadcasting veteran Steve Martorano to host Recovery Radio: an evening talk show focusing on major topics in the addiction treatment community.

Peter Schorr, Retreat’s Founder and CEO, seized upon the opportunity to develop the program. Both he and Martorano have a common vision. They are determined to provide a format where professionals in the substance abuse field can provide education for individuals and families struggling with addiction. “The purpose of the show is to educate and inform the public about the disease of addiction” said Mr. Schorr.

Mr. Schorr, alongside DASPOP President Deb Beck, were interviewed together on November 21 st for the program’s inaugural show. Since that inaugural show Recovery Radio has covered topics ranging from accessing treatment, pregnancy and addiction, to spirituality in recovery and the impact of substance abuse on the brain – to name just a few.

Mr. Schorr’s vision is to evolve the show as a premier platform for an ongoing industry dialogue – where substance abuse recovery champions can come to educate and enrich the wider community.

Recovery Radio airs on Saturdays from 6 to 7pm on 1210 WPHT, Philadelphia, AM radio.

Retreat Announces New Executive Staff Titles Amidst Massive Growth

EPHRATA, PA — In July, 2011, local newspapers and websites were excited about the rise of a rehab center on an Ephrata hillside. There was a tremendous buzz and an unrestrained fervor concerning the vision of 30 humble and determined professionals—a vision which has since lead to the creation of a network of innovative specialists in the field of drug and alcohol treatment.

Retreat is now comprised of dedicated developers and providers, a network of premier addiction treatment centers, and dedicated team members who are unified in living our mission. In less than four years Retreat has grown from a single premier center in a small Pennsylvania town into the very definition of compassionate care for the entire East Coast.

Our family of committed staff members has grown some eight times since Retreat’s inception, and we now stretch all the way from our home on a hill in Ephrata to the sanctuary of the sunshine state in West Palm Beach, Florida.

PR_titles1_2015.psdAs of January 5, 2015, six of our executives have been honored for their hard work, tireless efforts and commitment to Retreat’s vision. The titles will reflect the new responsibilities of the corporate team for Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers.

Ken Kosza is Chief Operating Officer. Chrissy Gariano has assumed the title of Chief Clinical Officer. Tom Garofola is our Chief Marketing Officer. Deja Gilbert is Executive Director for our new facility, Retreat at Palm Beach as well as VP of Program Development, Kevin Walker has been promoted to Executive Director of Retreat at Lancaster County and Scott Korogodsky has become the Corporate Administrative Director.

These individuals have demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism, dedication and passion. They have pushed the limits to accomplish the task at hand: creating the most effective, compassionate, and successful program to facilitate recovery for those struggling with addiction. Through their efforts, Retreat is able to help thousands of patients each year to regain control and succeed in their fight against addiction.

The range of services we offer has, of course, correspondingly grown with the many faces and talents of our staff members and our executive team. From the development of a comprehensive range of recreation therapy modalities, to a dynamic track program combining synergistic features of both art and music therapies, to an ever-enriching environment of security, sanctuary and anonymity—our overarching philosophy of individualized and specialized treatment plans allow for the long-awaited and long-remembered treatment experience now synonymous with Retreat.
